Ripoll climbing wall

The Ripoll climbing wall is a work long awaited by the Ripollès climbing community. Through the Ripollès County Council, La Bloquera is taking part in the competition for the construction of the climbing wall, being the chosen ones.

The Bloquera project chose to take advantage of the existing structure and expand and modify it, to make the most of the resources. Thus, such an extension is made, and the mat and carpet, and the dams are also placed.

It is a climbing wall designed and built so that all those people who love climbing can find their place there. Also so that it can accommodate climbing schools, and thus promote it in the younger ones.

Climbing and Canyoning in Ripollès and Garrotxa

The Generalitat has approved a provisional regulation for climbing and canyoning in the EIN of Alta Garrotxa, to which new spaces are added to practice these sports. As for climbing, some sectors of the Castellot de Beuda are incorporated and it is foreseen, as a novelty, the possibility of climbing for certain months (when there is no nesting of birds) in hitherto restricted areas of Guitar and Sadernes. In total, there are now 42 sectors (located in the Sadernes corridor, on the walls of El Ferran, in Bellavista and Castellot), of which 27 are practicable all year round.

As for the descent of ravines, river stretches have been added, but with a series of instructions not to negatively affect the environment. With the new regulation, there are now nine stretches where these descents can be made. The longest are in the torrent of Monars and in the ravine of the Toll. In addition, there is one (in La Muga, in the municipality of Albanyà) where you can practice water trekking. The Alta Garrotxa Consortium explains that the novelties are the result of the most recent studies by the same body and the Department of Territory and Sustainability over the last few years, pending the approval of the Natural Environment Protection Plan and the Landscape of the Alta Garrotxa.
